See D³GaN Efficiency in Action
At the VisIC booth, you’ll have the opportunity to explore our inverter prototype (400V/750A, powered by a dedicated NXP driver), designed by AVL Software and Function. The same technology recently delivered outstanding results at AVL’s advanced e-motor testing facilities in Germany. Powered by VisIC’s GaN-on-Silicon D³GaN components and controlled via AVL’s SOP eDrive controls algorithm, the system reached a benchmark efficiency of 99.67% at 10kHz, and an exceptional 99.8% at 5kHz. These results outperform comparable SiC inverters by up to 0.5%, resulting in energy losses reduced by more than 60%.
GaN delivers the performance of SiC at a Silicon cost. 

This breakthrough highlights the AVL and VisIC partnership as a robust and cost-efficient solution for automakers. VisIC’s GaN-on-Silicon power devices also require significantly less energy (and therefore CO₂ emissions) during chip production. They are scalable via 200mm and 300mm silicon foundries, making them ideal for mass-market EV adoption.
