From its inception, the company has been driven by a team of distinguished materials and device scientists with deep expertise in wide‑bandgap semiconductors. A series of groundbreaking achievements in materials processing and device architecture led to multiple international patents and demonstrated that VisIC’s technology was ideally suited for demanding, high‑reliability applications—particularly within the automotive sector.
With its rapid expansion it now operates for its key client from its VisIC Technologies Austria, Vienna location. The Vienna organization serves as a key hub for advanced GaN power device development, product engineering, and qualification, supporting global customer programs and driving the evolution of VisIC’s technology roadmap. VisIC Technologies Austria plays a vital role in shaping next‑generation GaN solutions for automotive and industrial markets.
Over time, VisIC expanded its global engineering capabilities and focused on the development of robust, automotive‑grade GaN power devices. Building on strong scientific foundations, VisIC engineers developed an optimized transistor architecture delivering high voltage and high current capability (750 V, 200 A) while maintaining exceptional robustness and reliability. This architecture avoided the intrinsic gate limitations of enhancement‑mode GaN and the performance constraints commonly associated with cascode solutions.
This innovation resulted in D³GaN (Depletion‑mode Direct Drive GaN) technology—an advanced power device platform specifically designed to meet the stringent reliability, safety, and performance requirements of critical electric drive and power conversion applications.
To ensure scalability, long‑term supply resilience, and manufacturing excellence, VisIC Technologies collaborates with leading 8‑inch GaN‑on‑Silicon foundries worldwide.
